The Reason I Chose Jackie Robinson

The first black man in basball was the breaker of a huge color barrier. The game of basebal used to be called white baseball until Jackie Robinson broke onto the scene. Jackie Robinson was a young war veteran that had returned and started to play in the negro league for the Kansas City Monarchs and then went to a minor legue team that was owned by the Brooklyn Dodgers. The team was called the Montreal Royals and they were a Triple-A minor league team. Then he was called up to the big leagues in 1947. He was an icon to all of the little boys who have ever played baseball. That is why I chose to do my project on Jackie Robinson.
